More hair loss drugs make combination decisions the hard part

In short As more hair loss compounds arrive that add to existing treatments, the difficult work becomes choosing the right combination, dose, and order for each patient.

Lilly and Hims reached a GLP-1 deal, BioPharma Dive reports, and it's a change for a company that used to sell knockoff versions.

I read it as proof that big manufacturers will partner with online prescribers. That's good news for any specialty hoping for its own Ozempic moment, and I hope hair medicine gets one.

Several new hair compounds are expected over the next two to five years. Most will be additive to what patients use now, not replacements.

So the hard part becomes the combination. What goes with what, at what dose, and in what order? A broad platform that treats everything is built for volume. A board-certified dermatologist who only treats hair loss is built for that conversation.

More medicines is good for patients. Someone still has to sit with each patient and work out the combination.
